Students prepare Family Disaster Preparedness plan

Although Sumitra Thapa,13, is the youngest of three children at home; she used to be the eldest one sometimes. She trained her mother, father, elder brother and elder sister about earthquake safety measures. The family members, now, can perform “Drop, Cover and Hold,” that is the life saving action at the first sign of shaking earthquake.

CIAA supports Nepal Red Cross

Honorable Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lok Man Singh Karki handed over 350 blankets and readymade cloths to Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) Chairman Sanjiv Thapa at a function organised today as part of the 23rd Anniversary of the CIAA. The fund for the kind support was raised by employee in the CIAA. A blood donation camp was also held and 118 persons donated blood in the function.
NRCS Chairman Thapa expressed his gratitude for the support and informed that the blankets will soon be distributed to the needy people. “We are very happy to donate this support to the NRCS and we will continue this type of humanitarian work," said Karki, the Chief Commissioner.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) is an apex constitutional body to curb corruption and its tentacles in the country.
