Ambassador of the Republic of
Korea to Nepal Mr. Park Sang
Hoon handed over relief packages
received from Korean Red Cross
to the Chairman of Nepal Red
Cross Society (NRCS) Mr. Ramesh
Kumar Sharma amidst a function
in Kathmandu today. The relief
packages contain over 44 thousand
pieces of clothes including
shirts, frocks, coats and sweater.
Handing over the relief goods,
Ambassador Mr. Hoon appreciated
the NRCS for playing an important
role in providing humanitarian
assistance to needy people.
"These relief materials
have been donated with the spirit
of friendship between the two
Red Cross Societies, the two
countries and their peoples,"
he said on the occasion. Chairman
of the NRCS Mr. Ramesh Kumar
thanked the Korean Red Cross
and His Excellency for the support
extended to the NRCS and hoped
that the cooperation between
the two National Societies would
continue. Secretary General
of NRCS Mr. Dev Ratna Dhakhwa
recalled the long history of
cooperation between the two
National Societies and the two
countries and said that the
relief materials would be utilized
for the purpose they have been
received for.
The relief package will replenish
the warehouses of the NRCS and
will be used to support disaster
victims. The total cost of the
relief materials is about 400
thousand US dollars.
