In the landslide caused by monsoon started from 10th July in Western and Far Western regions especially in Baglung, Bajura and Jajarkot districts, 34 persons were found killed and 100 families displaced. According to the sources received to the Headquarter, 19 were injured, 8 missing and 434 people were affected. District chapters have reported that the loss of life and property is increasing. Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) National Headquarters and District Chapters (DC) are collecting reports from lower networks to identify the exact figures.
The site in Baglung was jointly visited by NRCS DC people and Nepal Army. They reported the road network including water and electric supply is completely destroyed. The Red Cross team led by district chapter president Bishwa Nath Regmi distributed some relief materials to the disaster affected people. In Bajura, a total of 5 people were killed and other 5 were injured. Three peoples are still missing. NRCS DC people together with District Administration Office are conducting relief and rescue operation. The district chapter provided non food items and dry foods to the affected families.
