Nepal Red Cross Society has started the process of preparing its three-year Cooperation Agreement Strategy (CAS) in October 2003. A number of consultative workshops have been completed to give a definite form to the document. Regional OD Delegate Mr. John Gwynn facilitated four workshops with the NRCS governance, senior staff and district branch representatives to share the idea of CAS and give a definite direction to it.

The CAS is expected to become a common document of all the partners involved in the humanitarian works of the NRCS in various ways. The International Federation, the ICRC, and Partner National Societies present in Nepal have been involved in preparing the initial draft of the document. After the first draft is prepared, it is planned to be shared with all the possible stakeholders so that the document can be produced as a common document of all of them. Secretary General of the NRCS Dev Ratna Dhakhwa says, “The CAS of the NRCS will be a common document of all the movement partners, and other stakeholders. It will facilitate us in implementing our activities in coordination with all the partners.”
